Nevada Geothermal Home Contact Standards Facilities System Status Customer Updates

Customer Update 04/25/17

As most of you already know, NGUC has been very active in trying to find a potential buyer for the geothermal system that serves your residence.  As NGUC did its diligence, of paramount importance to us was selecting an experienced utility provider that would be able to make the necessary investments in NGUC’s system and infrastructure, thereby giving our customers the greatest chance to maintain the geothermal service that you have told us so many times you wanted to keep.  After weeks of study, diligence and discussion, we are pleased to announce that we have selected Avalon Geothermal, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cyrq Energy, Inc. (Cyrq) as that buyer.  Cyrq is a major geothermal power plant owner. Three of its five power plants are Nevada based, as is its operations management staff.  Please help us in welcoming Cyrq to our neighborhood.

The next steps in this process are to notify the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada (PUCN), finalize the definitive agreements that will complete the transaction, and apply for approval from the PUCN to transfer 100% of the ownership to Cyrq.  We expect that this process will take a few months, but we will continue to keep you apprised of our progress as we move forward.

As always, should you have any questions, please call us at 775-332-3362 or email us at NGUCNV@gmail.com and we would be happy to answer your questions to the best we are able.

 Sincerely,

 Nevada Geothermal Utility Company
